Another family tale- a Union soldier from West Virginia is captured in Tennessee and taken to Andersonville, where his cousin, a guard there, recognizes him and turns him loose in the night with the admonition to git on back to "Virginia".
The song doesn't particularly rhyme and it's a rough tune. As usual I got that atonal caterwaul down. Did I mention that these were inspired by acetates of toothless old people yarling? anyway...
